Restraints of Trade

Many employment contracts have restraints of trade that restrict a former employee in some way.  Often they restrict a former employee from immediately working for a competitor or from trying to get work from the previous employer’s customers.  However some restraint of trade clauses may be unenforceable – they must be carefully worded if they are to be effective.
